The Informatica Administrator is responsible for administering the Informatica platform environment. This involves the management and administration of all components in the Informatica platform across production and sandbox/development environments. The Informatica Administrator works closely with the Technical Architect and other project personnel during the Architect, Build, and Deploy phases to plan, configure, support, and maintain the desired Informatica configuration. The Informatica Administrator is responsible for the security configuration, licensing, and the physical install and location of the services and nodes/secure agents that compose the platform deployment.

Depending on the organization or project structure, this may be a singular resource or simply responsibilities shared with a preexisting role.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Informatica platform components related to configuration, security, and connectivity.
  • Develops Disaster recovery and failover strategies for the Informatica environment where applicable
  • Creates new services and nodes/secure agents as needed
  • Manages user and user group access to the platform components
  • Manages connections to external applications and databases
  • Manages connection security and privileges
  • Monitors environment as required
  • Responsible for automating Administrative tasks
  • Work with Informatica support and Centralize support tickets for mission critical customers
  • Tests and implements new technical solutions
  • Assist on Capacity planning as required

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Experience in supporting data management environments
  • Experience in developing and supporting data integration real-time and batch processes
  • Solid understanding of relational database models and dimensional data models
  • Understanding of corporate IT security policies
  • Understanding of applicable data governance policies (as it relates to providing access to data connections and services within the platform)
