The System Operator is primarily responsible for monitoring solution operations which can include:

 

  • Data Integration workflows and jobs
  • Data Quality profiling, workflows, and applications
  • Application Integration processes

 

In the event of an execution failure, the System Operator must be able to read application logs and/or any other associated log files and should also follow pre-defined procedures for addressing the problem, including reinitiating the failed job(s) and/or notifying the appropriate application/solution team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitors system logs and activity on servers and devices.
  • Monitors the execution of batch jobs and scheduled backup jobs.
  • Monitors real-time system state and load.
  • Responds to errors or failures in processes by involving cross functional resources to resolve issues
  • Follows pre-defined processes and procedures for addressing and escalating issues.
  • Operates server and peripheral devices to run production requests and create reports.
  • Collaborates with other departments (i.e., System Administrator) to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implements restart/recovery strategies.

 

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Has experience in the operations environment of the assigned area.
  • Possesses general knowledge in client/server computing environment technologies.
  • Understands server operating systems.
  • Is able to employ basic problem-solving skills.
  • Administrator experience in relevant operating systems is desirable.
  • Has achieved relevant certifications on the Informatica platform.
