The System Administrator is a hands on role with a wide range of duties, including installation/configuration of the Informatica platform, and coordination with other administrators, management and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, configure, tune and administer Informatica platform for maximum utilization and throughput, minimizing total cost of ownership. 
  • Manage a 24/7 PROD environment to maximize reliability and throughput.
  • Manage a TEST environment, keeping it in sync with PROD. 
  • Manage a DEV environment for new feature development and patch testing.
  • Liaise with Systems Administrators, Management, UNIX Administrators, Network Administrators, and DBAs to schedule and implement changes.
  • Support production jobs with performance tuning, metrics, and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process and architecture improvements to prevent issues.
  • Conduct impact assessment and determine size of effort based on requirements.
  • Manage authentication and authorization for Informatica tools, including integration with Single Sign on and LDAP.
  • Manage connections and security credentials for data access.
  • Define and implement standard operating procedures for user maintenance, data access/scans, and object promotion to higher environments, etc.
  • Define and test backup strategy to ensure a robust environment.
  • Monitor all environments to detect issues and trends before they impact users.
  • Manage security credentials, TLS certificates, users/groups, and authentication integration.
  • Manage platform services including configuration, lifecycle, node affiliation, and domain integration.
  • Guide stakeholders in optimum utilization of Informatica capabilities and best practices. 
  • Ensure the security, integrity, availability, reliability, and performance of the Informatica platform.

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Extensive experience in Informatica platform products, databases, networking, and OS administration.
  • Strong soft skills, including active listening, collaboration, positive attitude, and proactivity.
  • Significant experience installing and configuring Informatica platform.
  • Knowledge of best practices to minimize total cost of ownership and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Setting up Informatica access roles and privileges, LDAP client configuration and Single Sign On (SAML) integration using a “least privilege” approach.
  • Automation and monitoring of Informatica environments using Informatica APIs or command line and linux or cloud tools.
  • Windows system administrator.
  • Cloud Hyperscaler security, cost optimization, virtual machine, network configuration, and general administration.
  • Informatica grid design and implementation.
