Create categories, terms of use, delivery templates, data assets and collections. These can be created manually via the UI, via bulk uploads, or APIs. The data assets can also be imported from Data Governance and Catalog and then packaged into Data Collections.
Refer to the conversations you had around how to organize your data at a high level and begin to create these categories in Marketplace. You can create them directly in the user interface (under New) or using Bulk Templates, assigning owners as you go. You can also choose to build out a category hierarchy by using the 'parent category' field.
You will have done the initial thinking for appropriate terms of use in your preparation stage. Now it is time to create the specifics in the tool. This can be done on the Setup page or via bulk upload. Each term of use will need a type, a name, and a description. The type (accessible, controlled, or restricted) is important as it will give consumers a clue as to how easy it will be to gain access to the data.
Turning delivery methods into delivery templates involves a few steps, (all of which can be performed on the Setup page or via bulk upload). First, you must set up the possible methods and formats in which you expect data to be delivered. You then set up the overarching delivery templates, assigning owners as you go. The idea is that this is the generic form of delivery (e.g. via Tableau) and the specific delivery details will be created as delivery targets on individual Data Collections by their owners.
Data Collections can be created continuously by Data Owners, but you will want to create an initial set to get the pilot going. These may be made up of data assets from Data Governance and Catalog or you can also create data assets and elements manually using bulk upload. Data Collections are ready for consumption when they contain the appropriate metadata, assets, terms of use, and delivery methods.
