Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) provides business and IT users with powerful semantic search and dynamic facets to filter search results, data lineage, profiling statistics, 360-degree relationship views, data similarity recommendations, and an integrated business glossary. This enables IT users to be more productive and business users to be able to be full partners in the management and use of data. You can now easily and efficiently manage enterprise data assets to maximize their value throughout the company. Business users can quickly find data and easily manage the lifecycle of business terms, definitions, reference data, and more.
The Advanced level will help you develop expertise in EDC. It constitutes many videos, documents, and articles that will take you through resource management, schedule management, and asset management, along with other features and integration with Axon, IICS, Tableau, performance tuning, migration and much more.
After you successfully complete all the three levels of EDC product learning, you will earn an Informatica Badge for Enterprise Data Catalog. So complete the Advanced level and earn your badge!
This module covered topics like Resource Management, Profiling, Schedule Management, and Asset Management at an advanced level.

Informatica provides a standalone scanner utility that you can use to extract metadata from offline and inaccessible resources. The utility contains a script that you need to run along with the associated multiple commands in a sequence.
Catalog Administrator is an administration tool that you can use to manage and monitor the resources, schedules, attributes, and connections. You can extract metadata from all the resources in an enterprise through Catalog Administrator. You can create connections, create and run the resources, and create schedules to run the resources at periodic intervals to extract the metadata. When the data sources are offline or inaccessible, you cannot use the Catalog Administrator tool to extract metadata.
You can use the standalone scanner utility to extract metadata from external sources that are inaccessible at runtime or offline. You can run the script and associated commands to extract metadata from inaccessible or offline data sources and publish it to the catalog.
