HOW TO: Create custom lineage between columns through Rest API
Informatica provides a standalone scanner utility that you can use to extract metadata from offline and inaccessible resources. The utility contains a script that you need to run along with the associated multiple commands in a sequence.
Catalog Administrator is an administration tool that you can use to manage and monitor the resources, schedules, attributes, and connections. You can extract metadata from all the resources in an enterprise through Catalog Administrator. You can create connections, create and run the resources, and create schedules to run the resources at periodic intervals to extract the metadata. When the data sources are offline or inaccessible, you cannot use the Catalog Administrator tool to extract metadata.
You can use the standalone scanner utility to extract metadata from external sources that are inaccessible at runtime or offline. You can run the script and associated commands to extract metadata from inaccessible or offline data sources and publish it to the catalog.
