Overview
Synonyms are alternate names given to an asset in Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) through which the concerned asset could be searched from Catalog UI.
Synonym definitions for assets in the Catalog help you search for corresponding assets using the defined synonyms. Synonyms can be defined in a synonym definition file and uploaded in the Catalog Administrator.
Pre-Requisites
- Basic knowledge of Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC)
- Access to the EDC Catalog Administrator and LDM Catalog UI.
- Knowledge of objects in the EDC
- Permission to access the objects of the resources and search in Catalog UI
