Conduct a targeted assessment of Customer's data architecture strategy, domain model, and corporate taxonomy against current Customer requirements and context.
Design a glossary strategy based on strategic Customer requirements, industry reference standards, and Informatica-recommended best practices.
Note: Applicable to native Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) functionality only.
• Customer to provide strategic requirements and current glossary design (if available); if not available, the team will consult on the best means to get started, with applicability to CDGC.
• Customer to provide either direct read-access to their CDGC environment to be evaluated, or support a guided review of the content via screen share
• At least one (1) active instance of CDGC implemented (e.g. sandbox, dev, production)
• Customer to provide use cases and creator/consumer scenarios
• Customer to provide a list of its stakeholders from various relevant departments (e.g., business SMEs, data owners, data stewards) and ensure their availability to participate in requirements validation and review meetings
• Detailed assessment of Customer's current business data architecture
• Customer and Informatica have an understanding of key business domains and supportive conceptual mappings
• Initial business glossary strategy designed and ready for implementation in CDGC
Note: Focus is limited to two (2) functional domains, up to four (4) subdomains and up to thirty (30) terms as a starting point for the design. Customer may extend to more domains and terms on their own.
• Approach to improve key structures to align with creator and consumer use cases defined and reviewed
• Strategic assessment document for the domain and facet models that will support the core business use cases, including:
(i) recommended high level structures and approaches for business glossary domains, subdomains and terms
(ii) high-level transition plan to adapt to the new architecture
(iii) next steps, recommendations and timeline, if applicable
