Overview
The Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse Connector allows secure integration between Informatica Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse. It supports reading, writing, and lookup operations in mapping and mapping tasks. Through advanced mapping modes, users can execute complex transformations and functions on clusters hosted on Microsoft Azure or within self-service environments. SQL ELT mode enables complete data transformations within the warehouse environment, ensuring high processing efficiency and minimizing egress costs.
Pre-Requisites
- Power BI Configuration:
- Create and configure a workspace and warehouse with admin privileges.
- Add the Azure Active Directory application to the workspace.
- Azure Configuration:
- Register an application in Azure Active Directory and generate Client ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret.
- Create a security group and enable the Power BI admin settings in Azure.
Self-Service Resources

- Supporting advanced transformations via SQL ELT and mapping modes.
- Enhancing data processing efficiency within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
Outcome
- Faster data loading and transformations with SQL ELT mode.
- Robust support for advanced mapping functionalities.
- Reduction of cloud infrastructure costs through optimized operations.
- Integration Developers: For setting up mappings and tasks.
- Cloud Architects: For configuring runtime environments and permissions.
- Admins: For managing prerequisites and troubleshooting issues.

- Connection Errors:
- Runtime environment not selectable is resolved by ensuring proper setup of Azure application and workspace configuration
- Metadata Sync Errors:
- Delays in synchronization between Lakehouse staging tables and SQL endpoints require collaboration with Microsoft to minimize latency
