Overview
What are Relationships in CDGC:
- A relationship between assets shows how the assets relate to one another. In Data Governance and Catalog, distinct types of relationships enable the connection of business assets to one another and to relevant technical assets, illustrating how these assets interrelate.
- The Relationships tab on an asset's page reveals connections between the chosen asset and other business and technical assets. For instance, you can track how a data set links with assets like systems, columns, processes, or policies.
What is Data classification:
- It involves sorting and organizing data into specific categories based on its functional significance. This process helps organizations manage risks, ensure compliance, and enhance data security.
- To implement data classification, you can activate the capability on a catalog source. This allows you to categorize important source data into logical groups, enabling more effective management. There are two main approaches to classifying data:
- AI-Defined Inclusion Rules by CLAIRE: Utilize artificial intelligence to automatically generate classification rules based on patterns and insights derived from the data itself.
- Rule-Based Data Classifications: Alternatively, manually create classifications using predefined rules or custom rules tailored to your organization's specific needs. The Metadata Command Center offers over 200 predefined data classifications as a starting point.
