The new IDMC Auto-cataloging feature in CDGC allows users to automatically catalog CDI assets into CDGC without triggering any IDMC scanner from the Metadata Command Center (MCC). Users can enable IDMC metadata in the MCC to synchronize metadata from Data Integration (DI) tasks with the catalog.
IDMC metadata synchronizes metadata from DI tasks with the catalog, incrementally updating both design-time and run-time metadata associated with tasks. Design-time metadata includes information from mapping and task definitions, such as mapping tasks, data synchronization tasks, taskflows, and dynamic mapping tasks. Run-time metadata includes information resulting from task executions, such as lineage and mappings.
- Ensure that Runtime Environments are configured and IDMC metadata is enabled on the required tenant.
- Data Integration and Data Governance and Catalog must be included in the same IDMC organization for catalog synchronization to succeed.
- In Administrator, identify the runtime environments that run the Data Integration server. Data Integration mapping task jobs must run on the selected runtime environments.
- Understand how metadata is synchronized between Data Integration and the Catalog.
- Learn about Data Lineage, which illustrates how data flows from source to destination.
- Gain the knowledge to enable IDMC Metadata and connect CDI with Cloud Data Governance and Catalog.
- Utilize AI to classify data elements and identify the business names of technical assets across your source systems.
