The Configuration Specialist is responsible for configurating and unit testing the application settings of an Informatica application.  The Configuration Specialist uses the Solution Architect’s design document that consists of business requirements as input for setting the application configuration.  

A typical Configuration Specialist will be working on multiple areas of the application.  Examples of application configuration settings are: Cleanse and Validation Rules, Landing and Staging Areas, Match Rules, Merge Rules, Business Workflows, Hierarchies; and User Interfaces. 


  • Work tightly with Solution Architect. 
  • Configure application as defined by Solution Architect’s design. 
  • Work with business analyst/project manager/data steward/solution architect in modifying the configuration settings during unit testing  
  • Assist in any other areas relating to the application settings, such as User Acceptance Testing by the customer, batch integration and real-time integration 
  • Works with data integration personnel to resolve source/target data load issues

  • Must be able to understand and articulate the technical and business implications of data management 
  • Must be able to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, including focusing on managing expectations.

  • Understanding of ETL and Data Ingestion
